Another high-profile coach wants Chiefs job

It has come to the attention of this publication that another high-profile coach has raised his hand for the Kaizer Chiefs head coach position.

According to a source close to former Nigeria national team coach Jose Peseiro, he is more than interested in taking charge of arguably the most difficult football job in South Africa.

The Portuguese's CV has already landed in chairman Kaizer Motaung's desk at Naturena.

The 63-year-old, who took Nigeria to the final of the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations that was hosted by Ivory Coast, is currently without a coaching job.

"The coach that took Nigeria to the AFCON final is interested in coaching South Africa's biggest football club," a source tells KickOff.

"His South African-based agent has already sent his CV to Kaizer Motaung Jr.

"His CV is very impressive I must say and he is a very experienced head coach, he has won trophies and he has won league titles.

"The decision lies on Kaizer Motaung Senior, but he seems to be a perfect coach for Kaizer Chiefs after his good run in the Africa Cup Of Nations.

"His record in coaching is very good, he has won league titles as an assistant coach at Real Madrid.

"His CV was sent to Kaizer Chiefs on Monday, he is highly interested in coaching in South Africa. He knows very well who Kaizer Chiefs are.

"I believe he will do well at Kaizer Chiefs if they go with him, as long as they appoint one of the club's legends as his assistant, to make him understand the Chiefs philosophy.

"At the moment, he is unattached. He left Nigeria immediately after the AFCON final."
