Xavi makes big claim about Barca exit decision

FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has made a big claim about his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Bluagrana announced earlier this year that he will be leaving the club when the season concludes in June.

At the time of the announcement, Barca were knocked out of the Copa del Rey and had fallen behind league leaders Real Madrid.

However, Xavi claims his announcement has played a role in the team improving in the last few weeks.

"This has happened to me before.

"After the decision, there is more tranquility in the environment," Xavi said, as per 90.min.

"The club, the journalists and I are calmer knowing that I have an expiration date. It was the correct decision. My decision is not going to change.

"We have gained peace of mind, and that's where we are. If [I hadn't decided to leave], it would have been more difficult.

"With the decision made, I was sure we would be like this. If not, it would have been a disaster, and I said that to the president.

"The important thing is the club, and I will leave for the club. If I hadn't decided, at this point we would not be competing."

Barcelona will take on Cadiz on Saturday evening in LaLiga, before they host Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their quarter-final.
