The player boasts an Instagram following of over 643 000 and the commercial benefits of his popularity has reared its welcomed head when he was spotted with a brand new Mazda CX-60.
In a well-constructed video, the 39-year-old showed off the car, and explained its features so his followers can also understand how good it is.
"The powerful and luxurious Mazda CX-60 comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage service plan and warranty that'll allow you to drive your family in absolute peace... this Mazda SUV will take you anywhere with style and comfort," he wrote in an Instagram posted.
According to Auto Trader, a 2024 model of the car costs around R1 million.
Mazda themselves then commented on the post, adding more information about it.
"187kw of power and an interior that personifies sophistication!"
Because of the footballer's following, he has elevated himself to the level of influencer and seems to have struck a brand partnership with Mazda because of the way he promoted the product — the car in this case.
According to Sprout Social, Influencer-brand partnerships are ones in which leverage content creators to promote sales and build brand awareness.
With Shabba's appeal and his reputation, he has presented himself as a brand that not many would be too eager to pass up on.
