An FCSB coach has now revealed how South African star Siyabonga Ngezana incorrectly brought him a big pile of cash after he was handed a fine soon after his arrival in Europe.
The former Kaizer Chiefs centre-back has enjoyed a remarkable start to life in Romania, having clinched the 2023/24 league title in his debut season with his club.

The 26-year-old played a vital part in his side's success this term, with only six players in his team having registered more on-pitch minutes than him this season.
However, things were not as straightforward for Ngezana at the beginning, one of his coaches has now revealed.
FCSB assistant coach Mihai Pintilii has claimed that the Sebokeng-born star did not have a good understanding of European money during his first few months at the club, leading to the player bringing him a stack of cash that was way more than the fine he was told to pay.

"I fined Ngezana... two hundred euros (about R4 000). And he came with a pile of lei, the equivalent in euros," Pintilii said on the Un Podcast.
"He had five thousand lei (about R20 000) there [shows how thick the stack was].
"I told him: 'Well, man, you have to give two hundred euros.'
"He was giving me the stack!
"He didn't even know the money, the poor man. I gave him the money."

It is believed, though, that the Bafana Bafana player has since impressed several potential suitors in Europe, with Romanian news outlet DigiSport recently claiming that FCSB owner Gigi Becali wants €8.3 million (R165 million) for Ngezana's signature amid reported interest from French clubs FC Lorient, Stade Brest and RC Lens.
