'This is the downfall of Swallows'

Moroka Swallows legend Eric "Tambai" Ramasike is not convinced Marumo Gallants FC chairman Abram Sello has what it takes to bring stability in the Dube Birds' finances.

Swallows have been struggling financially since the days of the late David "Pine" Chabeli.

According to a very strong rumour, Gallants owner Sello is close to clinching a deal with the Dobsonville-based outfit's boss, David Mogashoa.

KickOff could not reach Sello on his phone in the past three days.

"The problem that is there at Swallows is now out of hand," Ramasike tells this publication.

"Why are they making the whole thing a secret? It's fine if Sello buys the club, but is he going to keep it in Soweto? Is he going to change the club's name?

"The current Swallows owners are struggling, they are not paying their players. They've recently promoted a player, it's been six months now, but the boy is still waiting for his first salary.

"I don't know if the boy will even get his clearance. Do you expect a great performance from a player you have not paid for six months?

"Mogashoa, I don't even know him. I just read about him. I don't know his background. The only person I know is Panyaza Lesufi, we meet a lot.

"So, Sello can buy Swallows, but what I know is he's also bringing his financial problems. Remember, Marumo Gallants still owe their players [CAF] Confederation Cup bonuses. It's a problem on top of problems.

"So, he will solve nothing. I think this is the downfall of Swallows. All the club's great history is about to vanish.

"Swallows is following the exact path the likes of Bloemfontein Celtic, Santos, and Hellenic took, this is going to be the end of Swallows."
