Barcelona 'offered' Man Utd star in shock deal

Manchester United reportedly offered Barcelona one of their first-team stars in a shock deal, and the player is keen on the move too.

The two clubs had a meeting two months ago, in which the Red Devils made a proposition that included a potential player swap for exiled winger Jadon Sancho, according to SPORT.

Barca, however, are claimed to have rejected the proposal brought forward by the Premier League giants at the time.

It is believed United are still looking to offload the English winger after his loan stint at Borussia Dortmund came to an end upon the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign.

The decision to send the player out on loan came after his public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag, and with the Dutchman's stay at Old Trafford confirmed to have been extended for at least another season, the three-time UEFA Champions League winners look set to offload Sancho once again.

As such, United have reportedly slapped a price tag of £50 million (R1.1 billion) on the forward, a price that Juventus and Borussia Dortmund – who are both said to be interested in securing the attacker's services – have refused to meet.

While the Catalan giants are believed to have not considered that offer, It is now claimed they are open to taking him on loan, with new coach Hansi Flick believed to be an admirer of the England international.

While the former Bundesliga star's wages may be a stumbling block for the LALIGA outfit, it has further been suggested that Sancho is willing to take a pay cut if a move to the Camp Nou becomes a possibility.

During his loan spell in Germany, he contributed with three goals and as many assists in 24 appearances across all competitions, and helped Dortmund reach the UCL final.
