If the fixture load that Mamelodi Sundowns had to deal with during the past season was heavy, then it will get worse for the 2024/25 campaign.
Sundowns will have to fulfil duties in the DStv Premiership, MTN8, Carling Knockout and the Nedbank Cup on the domestic front.

This means 30 league games plus four at most in the MTN8 if they reach the final and another four in the Carling Knockout should they also get to the decider.
They will play another five in the Nedbank Cup should they get to their fourth final in the last six years.
That could go up to a maximum of 43 games locally, with 33 guaranteed.
Then on the continent they will play in both the CAF Champions League and the African Football League, before heading out to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the USA from June 15-July 13.
Should the African Football League format remain the same, then it will be six matches at most if they get to the final and at least two should they get knocked out in the first round.
Their Champions League campaign count will go to 14 should they negotiate their way to the final.
As one of the top-ranked teams, Sundowns will play one qualifying round to get into the group stages, which guarantees them at least two games in the Champions League.
Once all is done locally and, on the continent, they will take the long flight to the USA, where they will get to play at least three group stage matches.

Depending on how they fare in all competitions that they will play, they are likely to surpass 60 games.
With Champions League appearances in the last nine years, Sundowns have averaged 52 matches per season, leaving them having to play up to 20 games more than other DStv Premiership clubs.
Last season, they played 57 games.
