Foster's new boss underlines goal for the future

Lyle Foster's new boss at former Premier League side Burnley has underlined his vision for the future.

The Clarets officially announced Scott Parker as the EFL Championship club's new boss as they try to claw their way back to England's top flight after being relegated at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Speaking after his appointment, the former Tottenham Hotspur star stated that he wants the side's supporters to play a big role in the upcoming season as he looks to make Tur Moor a "difficult" ground for visiting opponents.

"I've played in this stadium, I've managed at this stadium, I know what this place is about and what it means," Parker said per the club's official website.

"The understanding of the fans and what they expect from this team, and they are going to be a key part this season.

"It's always been a tough place to come, and a lot of people know that it's an intense place to come and play.

"It's always been a difficult place for visiting teams and we want that to continue."

Foster is likely to have a role to play in that objective, and will be keen on establishing himself as a key attacking outlet under Parker.

The South Africa international also boasts some Championship experience, having made 11 appearances after signing for the Clarets from Belgian side KVC Westerlo in January 2023.

In his second season at Turf Moor, the 23-year-old managed to amass five goals and three assists in 24 Premier League appearances.
