Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung has provided an update on the situation of out-of-contract goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, whose playing deal expired on June 30.
Chiefs have already unveiled new head coach Nasreddine Nabi ahead of their pre-season matches among a string of changes in personnel at the Naturena-based club.

As part of that replenishing process, the club has already confirmed the exit of as many as five players in Njabulo Ngcobo, S'fiso Hlanti, Jasond Gonzalez, Keagan Dolly and Siyethemba Sithebe, all of whom had their respective deals ending in June.
However, one player whose contract also expired at the same time is Khune, but Chiefs are yet to make any official announcement, raising question marks of the 36-year-old's future.
Speaking at the launch of the Toyota Cup on Monday, Motaung revealed that the former Bafana Bafana number one and the club are still in talks over his future.
"In terms of Khune, the club will make its announcements. We are certainly in discussions with Khune."
"I mean, Khune is a part of the family, 25 years, he's like a little brother to me.
"So, we are having discussions about what the opportunities are for him and we look forward to announcing those in future," said Motaung.

The Ventersdorp-born star has been vocal about his ambition to continue playing career. However, the Amakhosi hierarchy is understood to be as equally resolute in their stance that the only role they can offer him is a non-playing one.
Chiefs have also rubber-stamped that stance by handing goalkeepers Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen fresh two-year deals. Additionally, academy graduate Bontle Molefe has travelled with the first team to Turkey.
The Soweto giants' first competitive fixture will be against Tanzanian champions Young Africans on July 28 at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
