New Richards Bay striker Thabiso Kutumela has explained why he requested a transfer away from Mamelodi Sundowns, going on to join Cape Town City on loan.
Kutumela is among seven new signings unveiled by The Natal Richboys in a glossy press conference in Richards Bay on Wednesday.
Although he had played for Baroka and Orlando Pirates, the Mokopane-born attacker made his name in KwaZulu-Natal where he featured prominently for Maritzburg United, scoring 28 goals in 74 appearances.

His exploits were enough to convince Sundowns of snap bringing him back to Gauteng to be part of a star-studded Brazilians side.
However, despite winning two league titles with Sundowns, Kutumela scored just five times in 38 appearances and was visibly down the pecking order, with Peter Shalulile hitting top form.
It was unsurprising then when Kutumela went on loan to Cape Town City with one year left on his contract.
"You know I wanted to move? Because I am coming to a time where I'm losing this thing, in my heart for playing football. I was losing interest in it," Kutumela told journalists at the press conference.
"It was going to be hard for me to find a team if I was sitting for two seasons without playing.
"So, I told myself that I still wanted to play this thing that I started. I still want to finish as highly as I possibly can.
"So I took a risk, I took a loan to Cape Town City to play.

Ultimately, Sundowns opted against renewing Kutumela's contract when it expired at the end of June but the 31-year-old believes.
"In my first season with Sundowns, I played well and won the treble. When it's time to go there is nothing you can do. You can't say I still have something in me." Kutumela added.
"It is not about me but the team. If they feel that they don't need you, you have to accept it and carry on with what you love, and that is playing football.
