Ex-Chiefs man: I have no regrets

New Richards Bay FC signing Siyethemba Sithebe has opened up on his surprise exit from Kaizer Chiefs, despite proving to be one of the squad's most important players towards the end of last season.

Sithebe ended his two-year stay at Naturena when his contract expired at the end of June and Chiefs opted against renewing it.

READCAR ACCIDENT: Chiefs star out for 3 months

The 31-year-old had endured a lukewarm stay at Chiefs, having made 39 appearances in two seasons. In both campaigns, the Newcastle-born star struggled with injuries that limited his game-time, though he featured towards the end of 2023/24.

It didn't take long for the midfielder to find a new home as he was unveiled among several new signings by the Natal Rich Boyz last week.

Speaking to journalists at the event, he said he had no regrets about his time with Amakhosi.

"Yeah, obviously, I was disturbed by the injury. I spent a lot of time not playing, I tried my best to get fit and come back to play," Sithebe said.

"I think that helped me a lot because it wasn't going to be easy for teams to sign me with an injury. So. me playing the last seven games helped me a lot.

"No, I don't have any regrets. When you sign a contract, you know that at some point it will come to an end, then it will be the team's decision. So, no regrets," he added.
