Orlando Pirates landed back home in South Africa this weekend and there was something quite striking about the players as they teased their new 2024/25 kits ahead of it's much anticipated official launch on Monday. Here's a look!
The story
The Buccaneers are on the back of a successful pre-season camp in Spain, where they took for side sides from England, Spain, and Qatar.
The Bucs began their preparation campaign with a 2-2 draw with Wayne Rooney's Plymouth Argyle and that was followed by an impressive 2-0 win over UEFA Europa League record-champions Sevilla - who have claimed seven titles to date.

Just days later, the South African giants had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate with Granada, who were recently relegated from the 2023/24 LALIGA season.
Their last pre-season encounter in Europe was a 3-2 defeat to Qatari giants Al-Sadd, a club previously managed by Xavi Hernandez prior to his move to the FC Barcelona coaching job in 2021.
Now with that having concluded, Pirates seems to be dripping in confidence and it is now for everyone to see. On Sunday, the club gave a glimpse into their new home away and way kits for the upcoming season.
Their home kit's is in traditional black colourways, with an immaculate touch of red on the adidas three lines. The red Vodacom front sponsor logo blends in perfectly with the jersey, adding a visual harmony to it's look. One might even say it's a beautiful revisit of their 2009/10 home kit.
For their away kit, Pirates teased their mint green shirt, which is strikingly similar to their away strip for last term. The new one though seems a lot emboldened though and it's a fresher spin to last season's away kit, which was quite stylish itself.
