A former Kaizer Chiefs defender-cum-midfielder has lashed out at PSL clubs, accusing them of colluding against the Naturena-based outfit by making sure not to sell any of their top players to them.
Lifa Gqosha, who turned out for Chiefs in the '90s and was known for his no-nonsense approach on the field, has gone as far as to suggest local clubs are "on a secret mission to destroy the Chiefs brand" through the aforementioned tactic.
He says former Sekhukhune United winger Elias Mokwana undervalued himself by accepting a deal to link up with Tunisian giants Esperance, which is said to have cost a mere R7 million.

"We find ourselves in a very difficult situation where local clubs are not willing to work with their fellow local club," Gqosha tells KickOff.
"It's an unfortunate situation where all the local teams work against you. Just imagine hearing stories like Elias Mokwana joining a Tunisian team for less than what Kaizer Chiefs had offered Sekhukhune United.
"This is very disturbing and very bad. Our players should be leaving our league for Europe, not to another African league.
"It seems teams are now even prepared to send their players to any league outside South Africa just to avoid selling to Chiefs, and it's not right," he adds.
Gqosha says in terms of tax issues, had Sekhukhune sold the player to Chiefs, the benefit is that that money was going to circulate within the country.
"Just because of the Gaston Sirino signing, people are now saying Chiefs is a retirement village. Let it be a retirement village! It's better than to bring in people who will come here for money and relax.
"So, Sirino is a good acquisition. I so wish he would go there and perform and not be a flop like Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly.
"From a reliable source in Tunisia, [I heard] Mokwana went there for something like R7 million. This is from a journalist from that side.
"The local clubs' bosses are to blame for this. Mokwana wanted to go to Kaizer Chiefs. he showed interest that 'this is the team I want to go to'.

"But you know, with these club bosses, they will convince you otherwise just to serve their interests. So, I think for our football, it's not right. We are not giving players the right direction.
"If a player accepts such moves, when they go there, they won't be respected because they undervalued themselves."
