Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou has issued the latest on the recent negotiations between the club and Kaizer Chiefs for Bafana Bafana international Asanele Velebayi.
Speaking to KickOff on Thursday, Efstathiou might have hinted at the Ikamva-based side having closed the door back to the negotiation table for the talented player.

Amakhosi's initial offer for the winger was turned down by the Urban Warriors as they felt it didn't match the quality of the player and undermined the years spent in developing his craft from the age of 10.
It seems even the player's parents have not succeeded in convincing the Spurs management to accept the offer for the player to join his boyhood club.
At only 21 years of age, the Soweto giants could have made a huge investment in Velebayi, who has already played 99 matches in professional football.
It took Spurs about R8 million to develop the player, who is adept either as a left-winger, right-winger or attacking midfielder.
Asked if they were not risking keeping an unhappy player in their camp, Efstathiou said Velebayi would have to honor his contract with the club.
"The shop is closed now. We are focusing on our first game of the season against Tuks. if you are not happy with your wife, that doesn't mean you change a wife every year," Efstathiou said.
"Many youngsters would love to have a professional contract and be in the player's shoes right now."
Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung could not be reached for comment, while the club's communications manager Vina Maphosa said the policy of the club only allows him to comment on a player that has already signed.
