With a saturated 2024/25 football calendar now in play, an FC Barcelona star has backed the idea of a huge player strike.
Jules Kounde played 48 matches for the Spanish giants last season, before jetting off to represent France at the 2024 UEFA European Championship, where he helped them reach the semi-finals, featuring in every match.

This season, the defender has competed in all of his club's matches thus far, and has also featured for his national side in two UEFA Nations League encounters over the September international break.
While he has not yet shown any signs of fatigue, the 25-year-old has admitted that players have been complaining about not getting enough rest for a few years now and feel that no one listens to them.
This comes after Manchester City star Rodri suggested the possibility of players going on strike is "close", adding that they will have no other option if things remain as they are.
Speaking ahead of the Blaugrana's UEFA Champions League clash against AS Monaco on Thursday night, Kounde shared the same sentiment.
"Every year we have more games and less rest," he said, per journalist Fabrizio Romano.
"We players have been saying this for three-four years now but nobody pays attention to us.
"The time will come when we will have to go on strike to make ourselves heard, as Rodri said."
