Why Dolly back training with SSU revealed?

After reports broke that Keagan Dolly is training with SuperSport United, KickOff has the latest update on the situation around the former Kaizer Chiefs attacker.

Soccer Laduma revealed a week ago that Dolly was training with SuperSport during the international break, though merely to keep fit.

The pint-sized star is yet to find a new home after his contract was not renewed at Chiefs at the end of June.

The news of the Westbury-born player training with Matsatsantsa came as a surprise after he initially trained with the club during the off-season and came close to joining, having even completed a medical assessment.

A deal that was in the advanced stages, however, fell through at the eleventh hour, after SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews suggested head coach Gavin Hunt had to make a choice between Dolly and Vincent Pule and eventually went with the latter, whom he spent four years with at Bidvest Wits.

The fact that the Tshwane outfit was not prepared to sign both Dolly and Pule at the same time points to strict budgets currently emphasized at the side.

KickOff followed up on what is really going on regarding the former Amakhosi star's next move, and we can reveal that there was interest for the 31-year-old to move to Israel, according to reliable sources.

However, the Israel-Gaza war took a turn for the worst and Dolly's camp had to weigh up their options again, as it is not safe to travel to Israel currently, especially since the player would prefer to move with his family, should he go overseas again.

Indications from sources are that the Bafana Bafana international training with Matsatsantsa has Hunt's approval, as he keeps fit and awaits concrete offers for his services elsewhere, including overseas.

This publication has been led to believe, however, that in the process, Dolly is not ruled out on impressing his erstwhile coach at Chiefs, and it would then be up to Hunt to take it up with the management, should he feel that Dolly is one of the missing pieces - as currently, indications are that there are no talks of a potential deal.
