'The future belongs to them' - Bucs youngsters hailed

Orlando Pirates tactician Jose Riveiro has issued his verdict on the performance of teenager Mohau Nkota, who made his first start during the 2-0 Betway Premiership win over SuperSport United.

Pirates' red-hot league form continued when they got the better of SuperSport with a 2-0 scoreline at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night.

They got an early lead through Evidence Makgopa, who latched onto a pinpoint long ball from Thabiso Sesane in the first minute of the encounter, with Deon Hotto putting the final nail in the coffin in added time.

The match also saw Riveiro grant a starting XI spot to Nkota, who had come on as a substitute in the 3-2 Carling Knockout defeat to Magesi FC last weekend.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, the head coach spoke glowingly about the club's two starlets, in the 19-year-old and Relebohile Mofokeng.

"Like Rele, the future belongs to them right now. It's in their hands to keep their feet on the ground and take care of themselves and stay humble in order to continue learning because they still have a lot to learn in this profession," Riveiro said.

"Now, it's the most difficult thing to make sure that you have a long career. There's a lot of players that managed to have the boot in the Premier League.

"It's time for them to work hard so they can keep going forward because others will do it.

"So, I'm wishing him (Nkota) all the best, he is a humble guy. He is a hard worker and you cannot imagine how much... Like I said, the future belongs to him."
