An unhappy African striker currently plying his trade in the Premier League has reacted to being snubbed for the 2024 CAF Awards.
On Thursday evening, the governing body for football on the continent announced the list of nominees that will be competing for the Men's African Player of the Year award, with the winner set to be announced on 16 December 2024 during a ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco.

With players being selected for their achievements and performances between January 2024 and October 2024, 10 stars representing their respective countries across the globe were nominated.
It is a star-studded selection that includes Achraf Hakimi, Ademola Lookman, Simon Adingra and South Africa's own Ronwen Williams, among others.
However, Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson found himself absent from the list of nominees, and has since questioned why he was not included.
The Senegalese will, for this year at least, be unable to follow in the footsteps of former Blues and Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba, who was named the continent's Player of the Year on two occasions.
The 23-year-old's snub comes after he contributed with 17 goals and six assists in 44 appearances across all competitions for the London outfit last season.
His 10 goal involvements from January to the end of the 2023/24 campaign helped Chelsea finish sixth to secure a place in this season's UEFA Conference League.
Since the start of the latest season, Jackson has amassed five goals and three assists in eight league appearances, leading to him asking CAF: "What happened?" in response to the football body's nominees announcement.
