'They started swearing' - Saddam on his row with Bucs fan

Kaizer Chiefs supporter Saddam Maake has now broken his silence after images of him seemingly getting into an altercation with an Orlando Pirates supporter began making the rounds online. Here's a look!

The story

On Wednesday, renowned South African sports photographer Vino Snap published images on his X account of Maake and a female Pirates supporter, which have since caused a bit of a stir online.

The incident took place in the stands during Pirates' 1-0 victory over Richards Bay on Tuesday night at Orlando Stadium.

In the photos, the lifelong Amakhosi fan can be seen gesturing a finger in the face of the Pirates supporter after having a war of wards with the fan.

Vino Snap captioned the images with "Why," leading to debates over why this incident had occurred.

In light of this, Maake has now offered his version of events, explaining that the Pirates fan and another woman were swearing at them.

Maake wrote on X: "TJOVITJO feed your eyes, last night we attended [the] Pirates game, we [were] seated at the same place as Chiefs supporters and two young ladies joined us.

"A few minutes [after the] game started, the two complained that we made noise and we must sit down. I went to security to explain because they started swearing [at us]."

Maake went on to add that they were provoked by the two ladies, who he claims also said that "this is not FNB Stadium."

Maake also expressed his frustration with the public reaction to the incident, revealing that he paid his own money to take a group of supporters to the game, including fans of Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

"People are talking rubbish to say I was fighting."
