After plunging to 14th spot in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou has given an update on the future of head coach Ernst Middendorp.
Middendorp has somewhat re-directed the focus away from Spurs' bad start having anything to do anything with a playing or coaching aspect, after he spent weeks accusing match officials of favouring certain teams and went on a drive to expose the alleged lack of professionalism from referees in the second tier.

However, as with any other team, when results are not forthcoming, the responsibility is put squarely on the coach.
The side have not won a game since September, when they beat Hungry Lions 2-1, with their winless run stretching to seven matches after a 1-1 draw against Baroka last Friday.
After the weekend action was completed, Spurs dropped down to 14th in the National First Division standings.
Middendorp's charges are actually equal on points with 15th-placed Leruma United, which means they are virtually in the relegation zone.
With all eyes on whether the Ikamva-based club would contemplate making coaching changes, KickOff.com spoke to Efstathiou, who did not explicitly back Middendorp but suggested they would not be making changes.
"We carry on as is. This is not a two-week project, it's a five-year project, so ja, we just carry on," Efstathiou told this website.
Spurs appointed the German in November last year whilst at the bottom of the league table.

Although the former Kaizer Chiefs mentor appeared to have improved the team's fortunes, his appointment ultimately proved to have been made too late, after they could not get out of the abyss and were nine points short of survival and seven points less for a chance to go to the promotion/relegation play-offs.
Spurs will next be in action when they host JDR Stars on Friday.
