In the inaugural edition of Weekend Wrap, where KickOff gives a round-up of the weekend action every Monday morning, with a particular focus on the biggest talking points, we take a look at the upheavals faced by the two Soweto giants.
Kaizer Chiefs 2-2 Royal AM
Amakhosi's bid for a spot in the top four suffered a dent as Thwihli Thwahla dramatically came back from two goals down to salvage a draw at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
First-half goals from Ashley Du Preez and Wandile Duba were cancelled out in the second stanza by Ayabulela Maxwele and Levy Mashiane. Chiefs had a plethora of chances in the first half, but failure to convert them came back to haunt them against a spirited Royal AM side.
The result piles more pressure on head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who has won just one of his last five league matches.

Orlando Pirates 0-1 Stellenbosch FC
One of the bigger shocks came at Orlando Stadium on Saturday as a resolute Stellies got their MTN8 final revenge on Pirates with a 1-0 win.
A first-half Devin Titus strike and some desperate defending were enough to hand the Buccaneers their first league defeat after seven matches.
Stellies stood firm against the relentless attacks of the men in Black and White, and one of the big calls made by the referee on the day was giving Patrick Maswanganyi a yellow card for simulation. The Bucs playmaker was involved in a tussle with an opposition inside the box and fell to the ground, only to be cautioned for his trouble.
The results saw the home side surrender their spot at the top to Sundowns on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Stellies climb up to third.
Richards Bay 0-3 AmaZulu FC
In KZN, Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi secured both the three points and the bragging rights with a dominant display over The Natal Rich Boyz that ended in a 3-1 for AmaZulu FC.
The results sees the Durban outfit climb out of the relegation zone, while their KZN rivals are stuck at the bottom of the table.
Still in Durban, Golden Arrows made it two wins on the bounce with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Cape Town City, thanks to goals from Themba Mantshiyane, Ryan Moon and the match winner by Siphelele Dlamini.
The win takes Abafana Bes'thende up to sixth on the log table, while troubled City slip down to 11th with two defeats from their last three outings.
