Manchester United struck late in the second half to secure a 2-1 win over Rangers in UEFA Europa League action on Thursday night.
The Red Devils recalled Altay Bayindir, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen, with Andre Onana, Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo dropping out after loss to Brighton and Hove Albion over the weekend.
Rangers pushed a strong start when Hamza Igamane opened up space on the edge of the area to get a shot in, but Bayindir got behind him and tipped away.
An equally telling scare for the host before the break had Lisandro Martinez pushed way up the final third and draw a flying save off Jack Butland.
With halftime concluded, substitution by the host saw defender Maguire introduced in the place of Dutchman Matthijs de Ligt.
Captain Bruno Fernandes almost got the opener a minute from the break through a snap shot from a tight angle, but it deflected for a corner-kick.
The opening came from the corner as Butland misjudged the in-swinging delivery from Eriksen and plummeted into his own net.
Alejandro Garnacho looked to double the lead through a close-range strike from a cross into the box, but Butland finger-tipped onto the post.
Rangers offered little at this stage in what fast turned out to be a one-way traffic where yet another opening for the host saw Maguire shaved the near post with a low header.
There was some bright moments though later on with the Red Devils put in a spot of bother from the runs around the channels by Cyriel Dessers.
Dessers showed up nonetheless after getting the better of Maguire following a high ball and lashed in the bottom-corner to level matters with two minutes left on the clock.
However, United regained in the lead not long thereafter when Fernandes met Martinez's cross-field ball to the far post and fired in at the first time of asking.
The victory propelled the Red Devils to fourth spot and they are already guaranteed a play-off spot, but they can confirm a spot in the last 16 next week.
