Ngezana & co. praised ahead of Man Utd clash

The top eight teams in the redesigned UEL table will qualify for the Round of 16, with the teams occupying ninth to 24th needing to qualify through play-off encounters.

Both sides will be looking to maintain a place in the top eight when the two teams go head to head on Thursday night.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Romanian journalist Cezar Titor applauded FCSB's defensive solidity they have shown throughout the 2024/25 season.

"I would say FCSB has excelled in defence this season. Even the wingers have defended tirelessly during European games, a true testament that the team has learned how to suffer," he said per Manchester Evening News.

The journalist also predicted the line-up that manager Elias Charalambous would field for the continental match.

"Târnovanu – Cre?u, Ngezana, M. Popescu, Radunovic – Miculescu, Edjouma, ?ut, Alhassan, Fl. Tanase – Bîrligea would be the probable starting XI for FCSB against United."

Titor also gave his honest assessment of The Red and Blues' chances of upsetting the English giants.

"Given the excellent record of FCSB in this season's Europa League, I think the Romanian side can dream of a positive result against Manchester United," he said.

"In most of the games, the team coached by Elias Charalambous was seen as the 'underdog', but managed to beat the likes of PAOK, Midtjylland, and Qarabag.

"As you said, United had some troubles against Viktoria Plzen. At this moment, I think that FCSB is a better side than the Czechs, so there is a chance for at least a draw."
