Pirates' redemption mission given thumbs-up

Former speedy winger Tlou Segolela believes Baroka FC are in the unfortunate position of facing an Orlando Pirates side wounded by a Mamelodi Sundowns whopping.

Pirates succumbed to Mamelodi Sundowns with a 4-1 scoreline in their last Betway Premiership match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium last Saturday.

Turning their attention to the Nedbank Cup, the Soweto giants are on a redemption mission against Baroka FC, whom they meet in the Last 16 stage at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

"The Nedbank Cup is the cup of dreams," says Segolela, speaking to KickOff.com.

"Despite the loss to Sundowns, Pirates have been on a roll this season and are enjoying their campaign so far.

"Obviously, the loss against Sundowns will serve as a wake-up call for them.

"On the other hand, Baroka have just parted ways with coach Joel Masutha, and coach [Amukelani] 'Jay Jay' Hlungwani is now in charge on a caretaker basis.

"Baroka are known as giant killers, but facing a wounded lion like Orlando Pirates will be a mountain to climb.

"They are quite unfortunate to meet Pirates in this situation. This season, coach Jose Riveiro has done tremendously well.

"I predict that Pirates will win tomorrow. They have too much variety and firepower," adds the man affectionately known as 'Sox'.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
