Time running out for Pirates star?

As the season draws to a close, Orlando Pirates will have a tough decision to make over a midfielder who has struggled for game time this season.

With 11 league matches to play, the Buccaneers' are in the final stretch of the season with a league challenge in sight. However, matches are coming thick and fast, and further complicated by the CAF Champions Legaue and the Nedbank Cup - two trophies Pirates will also be eying.

To achieve this, Riveiro will need all hands on deck and has recently had to rotate the squad to keep up with the demands. Even with Riveiro's rotation, several players have still not managed to get a sniff of game-time.

Among them is Miguel Timm, the hard-tackling midfielder has endured a frustrating season with the Buccaneers that has seen him fall down the pecking order to younger and more mobile players.

Injuries have also not helped the former Marumo Gallants man, who has struggled with an ankle injury and has been limited to just three appearances this season.

Timm is yet to start a single match for Pirates. Thalente Mbatha, Makhehlene Makhaula have served as the Buccaneers' main central midfielders this season.

Goodman Mosele's return to the first team and the resurgence of Philip Ndlondlo present further obstacles for Timm.

The situation has also left questions about his future, with his one-year extension set to expire at the end of June this year.

At 33, Timm is at the twilight of his career and Pirates would reasonably be looking at replenishing the squad with younger talent. The midfielder himself would be is more than likely to consider a move elsewhere, for possibly better chances of game-time.
