FIFA has officially confirmed the top 10 highest-ranked nations in Africa, with Morocco retaining the top spot, while Bafana Bafana have also risen in the overall rankings.
The world football governing body released its latest rankings following the first international break of 2025.

CAF nations were in action for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with teams like Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt securing maximum points from their two fixtures, strengthening their chances of qualification for the global showpiece.
As a result, all three nations climbed in the overall standings, with Morocco moving from 14th to 12th in the world rankings while maintaining their position as Africa's number-one team.
Tunisia, now the seventh-highest-ranked CAF nation, made the biggest jump among African teams, climbing three spots from 52nd to 49th in the global rankings.
Bafana Bafana secured victories in both of their recent fixtures against Lesotho and Benin. As a result, Hugo Broos' side is now ranked 56th in the world and 10th in Africa.
