With Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lucas Ribeiro Costa linked with a European move, his potential sale could go a long way in benefiting PSL clubs going forward.
Ribeiro has arguably been the most standout player, not only at Sundowns but in the league.

However, the Brazilian's sale - with reports that French Ligue 1 side Lille are the latest club to enquire about his services - would not be easy to conclude, given t value of the Tshwane giants' players.
That is even though the side did not pay big money for the man who was signed from Belgian Second Division side SK Beveren.
The investment made on Ribeiro means any European club would need to pay a substantial fee, above what would normally be the case with players who are still coming up.
Should he be sold to a European outfit, the sale will boost the valuation of players in the PSL, as he has the potential to break the outgoing transfer record held by Percy Tau when he was signed by Brighton and Hove Albion for R50 million.
"Disturbing news for us Sundowns fans to hear (about) one of our best players this season, potentially Player of the Season for me. But you know what, no surprises. He has done so well. It was only a matter of time before the big teams in world football came knocking," club legend Manqoba Ngwenya said on SoccerBeat YouTube Channel.
"Definitely, he can (make that jump to bigger European leagues). I believe he's a quality player, he's got what it takes. We had (Marshall) Munetsi, who was at (Orlando) Pirates, making it in the French league and now we see him in the English Premier League. Siaka Tiene also went to Saint-Etienne and eventually played at PSG.

"Both of those guys didn't make the mark as Ribeiro has in the South African league, taking it by storm. When Motsepe took over, he said players must be taken at the right price, the price tag that is right," he added.
Lyle Foster also joined French side Monaco from Pirates in 2019 having made a handful of appearances for the Soweto giants.
