Tunisia will take on Cameroon in the last eight, while Angola will face defending champions Egypt. South Africa and Senegal are both eliminated from the competition.
In the first twenty minutes there were few chances until Amine Chermiti missed a fantastic opportunity to give Tunisia the lead, as he headed wide from 6-yards following a fine long range free-kick into the box from Kamel Zaiem.
Both sides spurned decent scoring opportunities early by shooting wide.
Angola’s Ze Kalanga missed an excellent chance soon after the half-hour mark. Good work by Flavio on the right and a simple pass allowed Ze Kalanga to come inside, but his side-footed attempt from 8-yards was blocked by keeper Hamdi Kasraoui.
Zaiem hammered a long range shot that was stopped by Luis Lama. The rebound looped to Chermiti, but his attempt to head over the stranded 'keeper went wide. The sides went in scoreless at the break.
Angola almost fashioned an opening on 53 minutes as Flavio chased a ball thought the channel, but the striker stumbled and allowed Karim Haggui to recover.
Kasraoui was forced into a fine save minutes later, holding firm to deflect away a vicious Norberto Maurito strike, after the midfielder had received a quality pass by Alberto Manucho.
As the game wore on, the sides took their foot off the pedal and looked to be playing for the draw.
However late in the game, Flavio had one last chance when he tried to lob the keeper but it was easily saved.
