The 31-year-old made 17 appearances in Greece, registering just four goals and one assist before his contract was cut short, according to Transfermarkt.
However, the former Stellenbosch player will not wait long before joining his next club, by the looks of things.
According to Chajari Al Dia Digital, Mendieta is set to be announced as a new player at Al-Faisaly FC.
Al-Faisaly FC currently compete in the Saudi Arabian second tier, and the report claims that Mendieta's unveiling is scheduled to happen soon.
The Argentine star has already been pictured at the facilities of Al-Faisaly, with one image showing the player holding a maroon bouquet of flowers upon his arrival at the club.
Notably, Al-Faisaly are coached by another familiar name to South African audiences, Pablo Franco Marin, whose last role was as head coach of AmaZulu FC.
