Man Utd 'ready' to cough up R1.4bn for African star

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to make a €75 million (R1.4 billion) bid to acquire an African star.

Osimhen moved to Galatasaray on loan in September 2024 from Serie A club, Napoli, where his contract runs until June 30, 2027. He was linked with a move to EPL titans Chelsea FC before his switch to Türkiye.

The Red Devils have been having difficulties finding the net this season, which has significantly contributed to see them sit 13th in the English Premier League standings.

Conversely, Osimhen has been excelling for both the Super Eagles and Galatasaray, having netted 26 goals in 30 matches for the Turkish side across all competitions so far.

His impressive performances have attracted attention from major European clubs, with a report from Team Talk suggesting that Man United are ready to pay €75 million (R1.4 billion) to secure his services.

It is understood that United coach Ruben Amorim is aiming to strengthen his squad and has now set sight on Osimhen, whom he believes would integrate seamlessly into his team.

However, the Old Trafford giants could encounter strong competition from Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain and EPL rivals Liverpool, both of whom are also said to have an interest in the 26-year-old African superstar.
