Kenya forward Mohammed Bajaber has revealed what Benni McCarthy told before he went on to score an impressive goal against Gambia.
The Harambee Stars battled back on two occasions to rescue a 3-3 draw against in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Thursday evening.
Bajaber was introduced in the second for his Kenya debut by McCarthy and went on to make it 2-2 with a wonderful strike.
The coach told me to go in and enjoy myself and have fun," the 21-year-old told Mozzart Sport.
The attacker also revealed his impressive goal was not luck, having practiced that exact technique before.
"It was not by luck, as I have been working on the art for some time," he added.
"I used to be the first player to be on the pitch, during my times at City Stars just to fine-tune my scoring instincts. I have also been putting in individual effort at my current club."
