Mourinho makes Ronaldo prediction for EUROs

New Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho has made a prediction for Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the 2024 European Championship.

The 39-year-old was an unused substitute as Portugal lost 2-1 to Croatia in their penultimate warm-up clash on Saturday evening.

Ronaldo finished as the team's top scorer in the EURO 2024 qualifiers with ten goals, four behind the golden boot winner Romelu Lukaku.

During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ronaldo had to make do with coming off the bench but it remains to be seen if that will be the case this time around.

Mourinho, however, feels the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star will have an impact at the tournament.

"The coach knows," said Mourinho, as per the Mirror.

"Cristiano is the one who knows how he feels, what his goals are, how the coach wants to use him, whether to play every minute of every game or protect him in key moments.

"But there's a lot that goes on inside that gets between them. He has a lot of influence and he will score his goals.

"I don't believe he will leave the European Championship without goals."

Ronaldo will be competing at sixth European Championship with Portugal, with his first appearance coming in the 2004 edition.
