Pitso reveals full value of his Esteghlal deal after his exit

Pitso Mosimane has revealed the total value of his Esteghlal FC contract following his abrupt departure from the club on Tuesday.

It was recently confirmed that Mosimane terminated his contract with Esteghlal for a variety of reasons, primarily due to outstanding payments.

The South African's contractual demands are believed to have been unmet by the Iranian club, despite Mosimane's attempts to claim what was owed to him.

Ultimately, the situation reached a breaking point this week when the 60-year-old tactician left the club. Reports suggest he was also frustrated by the lack of respect for his input on transfers.

Following his exit, Mosimane spoke to a journalist from the Iranian news outlet Hamshahri Online, where he disclosed what really transpired regarding his contract situation.

"My contract explicitly stated that transfer responsibilities lie with the head coach. This behaviour contradicts professional standards. This clause was not honoured, and players were signed without my knowledge or approval," Mosimane explained.

"I officially gave notice on 1 January, up to 15 January. Because of the new management, I granted them an additional 10 days, but their promises remained unfulfilled, so I terminated my contract.

"If the club had met its commitments, I would not have terminated the contract. To this day, $181,000 (R3.3 million) of my salary has not been paid, nor has my January salary. For three of my assistants, salaries for November, December, and January also remain unpaid. All the documents are available."

When asked about the total value of his contract with Esteghlal, Mosimane responded: "$1.3 million (R24.3 million).

"This amount includes the salaries of myself and my assistants. Maahier and other members of my coaching staff are also owed money by Esteghlal. Ask how much of the $1.3 million has been paid!"
