'Man Utd reeks of an unhappy place to be'

A former Manchester United star has suggested that the club is a "toxic" place to be, commenting on Jadon Sancho's reaction to Marcus Rashford's departure.

Sancho, who was previously frozen out at United under Erik ten Hag, joined Chelsea on a loan-to-buy deal after a short-term loan stint at Borussia Dortmund last season.

The Englishman, however, stirred controversy among the United faithful when he responded to Rashford's social media post following his Aston Villa debut by simply writing "freedom".

Rashford, who found himself sidelined under current Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim, opted for a January switch to Villa in search of a fresh start.

Former United goalkeeper Ben Foster, meanwhile, believes Sancho's reaction speaks volumes about the turmoil within the club.

Speaking on his podcast, Fozcast, the 41-year-old said; "What is he [Sancho] doing? That's ridiculous because he is still actually employed by Manchester United, and so is Marcus Rashford.

It just reeks of toxicity at United. It reeks of an unhappy place to be, that everybody's buzzing for someone to get out [of the club]."

United's struggles on the pitch have only fuelled the discontent behind the scenes.

The Red Devils have been woeful in front of goal this season, managing just 28 goals in 24 matches – one of the reasons they currently sit 13th in the Premier League table.

With performances stagnating and internal issues piling up, questions continue to mount over the club's future under Amorim and whether United can turn their season around.
