Ugandan development coach and player agent Paul Mujuni believes the Confederation of African Football (CAF) made a significant error by not scheduling the Group K qualifier fixtures on the same date.
Mujuni argues that the sold-out match between the Cranes and Bafana Bafana has lost its appeal for the people of Uganda due to the current situation, making it less important.

Both nations have already qualified for the 2025 tournament in Morocco, following Congo-Brazzaville's shock 3-2 loss to South Sudan.
"There's no excitement now that both teams have qualified," Mujuni told KickOff.com.
"The game between Congo and [South] Sudan should have been played on Friday at the same time. The corruption in African football is harming the sport. In Africa, we often look for shortcuts, and these are loopholes that need to be addressed.
"It's great for both Uganda and South Africa, but we wanted our match against Bafana Bafana to come with pressure for both countries. That would have been ideal," he says.
Furthermore, Mujuni believes corruption isn't just about the exchange of money but that it also involves 'doing favours'.
"In this instance, yes, the date was already fixed, but good leadership requires forward-thinking. CAF should analyze the standings and arrange the last two fixtures to avoid corruption.
"If Congo had beaten South Sudan, our game against Bafana Bafana would have held more tension, commitment, and excitement - elements that contribute to the growth of our players and our football.

"Given the situation, the game against Bafana Bafana is no longer important. They're fortunate that the tickets were already sold-out. If this news had come earlier, the stadium would likely have had a smaller crowd. The coach might even choose to play players who haven't featured much in this campaign since the match feels ceremonial.
"Interestingly, many South Sudanese players are Ugandan as they play their club football in Uganda. They weren't called up to the national team, and it seems they chose to play for South Sudan for our benefit."
The encounter at Mandela National Stadium kicks off at 15:00 SA time.
