Egypt and Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has commented on the Pharaohs' shock last-16 elimination from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations at the hands of Bafana Bafana.
The seven-time Afcon winners were left stunned at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday, as Thembinkosi Lorch's 85th-minute strike ensured that Stuart Baxter's charges advanced to the quarter-finals of the competition at the expense of the host-nation.
Having won three of the four previous Afcon tournaments they hosted, Egypt were largely seen as favourites for victory, however, South Africa had other ideas.

The defeat resulted in the sacking of Egypt coach Javier Aguirre and the resignation of the president of Egypt's Football Association (EFA), Hani Abu Reidah.
Two-time African Footballer of the Year Salah took to his social media to publicise his disappointment in the wake of his side's defeat to South Africa.
"Very sad for our early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations," Salah wrote on his official twitter account, as translated into English.
"We were hoping to continue together till the end and win the tournament for our loyal fans to whom I have to address a big thank you for the support we are used to from them.
"God willing we will learn from our mistakes. I wish the best for the national team in what is to come."
As per Liverpool Echo, Salah will be given three weeks as a rest period ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, and will miss the Reds' pre-season tour of USA, where they do duty against the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Sporting Lisbon.
It is believed that Salah will resume full training ahead of the friendly against Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyon on 31 July.
