Nigeria striker Ahmed Musa has commented on his side's quarter-final victory over Bafana Bafana in the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday, claiming that the Super Eagles expected to beat Stuart Baxter's men.
Goals by Samuel Chukwueze and William Troost-Ekong either side of Bongani Zungu's VAR-assisted second-half strike ensured the Super Eagles' progression to the semi-final of the tournament for the ninth time in the past 10 editions of the African spectacle.

After helping his side to victory at the Cairo International Stadium on Wednesday, Musa highlighted the importance of securing the win over South Africa in their pursuit of a fourth Afcon title.
"The win is important. We knew it was not going to be easy," he said in post-match comments, as per completesports.com
"All we had in our mind was winning the game and we are glad to do that at the end of the day.
"We expected that we would win, but we have to keep our head calm.
"We scored the first goal but they equalised. We knew the goal would eventually come and had to be patient. Finally, it came in the 90th minute."
Musa, who was taken off by coach Gernot Rohr in the second half of the quarter-final tie, also took time to acknowledge the Nigeria supporters who attended the clash,
"They should keep supporting us. It's good that Egyptian fans came out to support us. We want to say thank you to them for everything."
The Super Eagles will face the winner of the quarter-final clash between Algeria and Ivory Coast on Thursday even, in their semi-final on Sunday, 14 July.
