AmaZulu explain appointment of tactically astute Folz

AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu has explained the club's decision to appoint highly-rated former Marumo Gallants mentor Romain Folz as its new head coach.

Just ten games into the season, AmaZulu announced earlier this week that they had decided to part ways with head coach Brandon Truter.

Truter's replacement has since been unveiled as Former Marumo Gallants head coach Romain Folz.

AmaZulu chairman Sandile Zungu has opened up on why he chose the 32-year-old as the right man to lead Usuthu.

"He [Romain Folz] is known as a great tactician and he is known as someone who has got a great analytical mind," explained Zungu.

"We have to be very sharp in understanding who we're playing against, but even sharper in preparing ourselves for those great games.

"It was not difficult to find someone who is familiar with the local environment and who has the pedigree to coach a team as young and as dynamic as ours, so we think we've got the right man for the job."

Along with Truter, Kamaal Saait and Johan Abselon who served as Assistant coach and goalkeeper coach respectively have also departed the club.

Musa Langa has been roped in as the new goalkeeper coach while Siyabonga Nomvethe will serve as an assistant coach for the reserve team.

Folz' first test at the helm of AmaZulu will be a trip to Soweto to take on Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on Friday night evening.
