AmaZulu FC chairman Sandile Zungu denies that they are in talks with Golden Arrows' Pule Mmodi and his agent Solomon Seobe.
According to various reports, the agent has named Usuthu as the only club they have spoken to about the exciting attacking midfielder.
Next month the player is expected to sign with Kaizer Chiefs on a pre-contract after contract negotiations with Arrows at the beginning of the season failed to have a positive outcome.
However, it is normal for big clubs like Kaizer Chiefs to play their cards close to their chest when it comes to transfers.
"I'm not sure what they are talking about," Zungu tells KickOff.com.
"I don't know what they are talking about. Maybe the Agent might be able to answer this, it's he who said AmaZulu are the only team to have approached them.

"I have no idea who is he talking to at AmaZulu. Whom does he say he is talking to about Mmodi?"
Asked if he would love to have Mmodi in his team one day, Zungu described the 29-year-old as exciting to watch.
"He's an extremely exciting player, we would definitely love to have him at AmaZulu. There is no question about that.
"But whether we will have him or not it's a different matter."
Mmodi has already scored four times and provided a single assist for Arrows in the 13 league matches he has featured in so far.
