'His dream is to join Kaizer Chiefs' - Maduna set to leave AmaZulu

Midfielder Siphelele Maduna could secure a transfer to Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Maduna is currently training with the reserve team at AmaZulu after being deemed surplus to requirements at the club this season.

The 23-year-old midfielder is maintaining his fitness, together with Mxolisi Kunene and Mswati Mavuso, who also find themselves on the periphery of head coach Pablo Franco Martin's squad.

According to a source within the player's camp, Maduna rejected a new offer from Usuthu with the believed intention of joining Amakhosi in the off-season.

"Maduna was offered a new deal at AmaZulu but turned it down," a source tells KickOff.

"His dream is to join Kaizer Chiefs.

"His initial contract with AmaZulu is due to expire in June next year.

"He is free to sign a pre-contract with any team in January.

Midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe faced a similar scenario when turning down a contract extension in favour of a move to the Glamour Boys.
