Folz pleased after breaking DStv Prem duck

AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz was pleased with his side's performance after Usuthu defeated Stellenbosch FC to end his wait for a first DStv Premiership victory.

Folz's run of 11 consecutive DStv Premiership matches without a win came to an end on Sunday after AmaZulu recorded a 1-0 win over Stellenbosch FC through a goal from Zambia international Rally Bwalya.

The Frenchman had lost two and drawn nine of his previous matches in the top-flight across spells with Marumo Gallants and Usuthu before breaking his duck at the King Zwelithini Stadium, and he was left impressed by his side's performance on the night.

"It's always good when you get a win and even better when you don't concede. It's the third game in a row that we have kept a clean sheet which is also a good sign of progress and improvement," Folz told SuperSport TV after the match.

"We created many chances, especially in the first half, but I think our decision making in the final 25-30 yards of the opponent was not the best otherwise we could have been a bit more effective coming into their box. But I think we deserved the win. The level of commitment and the tactical discipline and work rate from everyone, it's only logical that we got the win.

"We were missing a lot of players as well, injured players and players who are on the verge of possibly being suspended so we had to make a decision for them, but everyone who was on the field today responded. Even the players who didn't enter brought a very positive energy to the team. I think it's a very fair win for us.
