Another huge score opportunity for Bafana

For all the opponents that Hugo Broos has faced in his time as Bafana Bafana coach, South Sudan will rank as the weakest based on their FIFA standings.

Worse for the East Africans are the circumstances that have come with their trip for the match at Cape Town Stadium (18:00).

The Bright Stars have arrived in the Mother City already out of contention in matters related to qualifying and will merely be fulfilling this fixture.

"We are here with 14/15 players only because the (flight) tickets were too expensive," discloses South Sudan's French coach Nicolas Dupuis.

The South Sudanese left Juba then headed to neighbouring Addis Ababa from where they then connected to Cape Town.

In their squad is the pair of goalkeepers Juma Jenaro and Majak Maling then Wani Ivan, Samuel Taban, Benjamin laku, Pal Paul, Atir Thomas, Okocha Rashid, Joseph Malish, William Gama, Mandela Malish, Chol Peter, Yohanna Paulino, Ebon Malish, Yuel kuach, Data Elly, and Paul America.

"But I'm here with fighters.

"My players have a very good spirit, and we are going to do the best.

"Last week, we won against Congo with a CHAN team, so I brought only the CHAN team for this game because we have to prepare for the second round of preliminaries for the CHAN.

"We are going to play against Rwanda, so we have to prepare for that.

"We are going to play one good game against a beautiful team, and we are going to do the best, only that.

"We need to have a good spirit.

"We need to fight, and I want my players to give the best, only that.

"I think people will be able to see a good game tomorrow," says Dupuis, adding that he is not afraid of what he saw in Bafana's last home match against Congo, which finished 5-0.

The South Sudanese (172) are the lowest-ranked nation that Bafana have played under Broos with the other lowly country being Andorra (170).

Tuesday's match will pit two countries whose names are prefixed with the same cardinal direction (South) with the tie being played in the southernmost city on the continent.
