As Bafana Bafana prepare to take on Libya in their final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya in Sfax on Sunday, the former Mamelodi Sundowns player has stressed the importance of team work to get the senior national team over the line.
Bafana need a point to qualify for AFCON, so Tau feels everyone just has to perform their role on the day.
Tau is likely to start upfront with France-based forward Lebogang Mothiba. The players have four goals between them in the qualifiers and head coach Stuart Baxter will be relying on them to find a chink in the Libyan armour. Both players are having a good season in Europe, so they are in the right frame of mind to give excellent performances upfront.
“I never put pressure on myself, I never think there’s pressure because there’s 11 guys on the pitch and everyone has a role to play. I’m always on the luck side that I have to finish the goals, but everyone has a role to play. There’s no pressure when there’s team effort,” Tau told SAFA media.
“Everyone is looking forward to the match and we are trying to get a good mood before the match, so that we get the points that we need. Everyone is excited to be here,” Tau said.
