When Evidence Makgopa had just broken into the first team at Baroka three years ago, he immediately found himself called to the national under-23 squad preparing for the Olympic Games.
Makgopa had joy written on his face about getting national recognition but sadly couldn't travel to Saudi Arabia for the friendly games as he didn't have a passport at the time.

This meant Makgopa couldn't embark on his first ever trip outside the country.
The lanky forward would then get his travelling papers inorder and the moment Hugo Broos was appointed found himself going on to earn his first cap.
While he is now enjoying himself at the AFCON, Makgopa hasn't had it smooth since moving from Baroka to Orlando Pirates where he completed his first season without scoring.
The five goals scored this season have won the trust of Broos who has stuck with him despite all the criticism.

The former Baroka striker is the second born of four kids.
He has an older brother Promise, and younger siblings Phetehego, and Kgabi.
Makgopa never played football through all his time at Poo Secondary School in Ga-Mohlala, Limpopo, where he matriculated in 2018.
"The football at my school was boring and I never went to the same school as my friends, who understood my style. At my school I only attended classes and played in betting games," said Makgopa in a previous interview with this publication.

The Bafana striker was nicknamed Tower since his arrival at Baroka at the beginning of 2019 but those that know him from his teenage years refer to him as Pogba after the French midfielder Paul Pogba.
"When I joined Baroka and told them that my name is Sekotori Makgopa, no-one took interest.
"The MDC coach at the time Bushy Moloi just referred to me as Tower because of my height and the name stuck," said Makgopa.
The tall forward is the one of a policeman.
Though born in Dikolong Hospital, Driekop, near Burgersfort, Makgopa has his roots in Ga-Mampa village in Sekgobela Section where he did his primary schooling.

For his first two years ion secondary school, he studied in Middelburg, Mpumalanga where his dad worked and went to Poo in Grade 11.
After completing matric in 2017, he then moved to Polokwane while attending classes for an Electrical Engineering course at a local college for a year.

During the year 2018, he played for Peace United in the SAB League but moved after being spotted by then CEO Morgan Mammila while playing a tournament in his village.
Makgopa hails from the same area as Kopano Sekgobela – who is now wheelchair bound after being involved in an accident back in 2012 while attached to Polokwane City.
