Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has provided his assessment of striker Evidence Makgopa following Bafana Bafana's last 16 victory over Morocco.
South Africa booked a seat in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations currently underway in Ivory Coast with a 2-0 victory over the Atlas Lions thanks to goals from Evidence Makgopa and Teboho Mokoena.

Speaking on SABC Sport, Mngqithi explained that Makgopa could have done better with some of the chances the striker received.
"To be honest, in this ball (where Makgopa scored), he positioned himself correctly in between the two defenders and he took the first touch very well. Beautiful pass from Zwane, we must never take credit away," Mngqithi said.
"But the other two balls he got from Teboho, they demanded something else, they demanded what Teboho did (later in the match) to take Amrabat out of the match because if Makgopa had gone in front of the defender, the defender would have done the same thing in the first half and we could get a penalty.

"If the defender doesn't do that (push) then he's got more time to then approach the ball that is coming towards him and terminate the attack (score).
"So, truly speaking, he (Makgopa) took very good positions in all these moments, but the decisions he took once the ball was played to him, this one (the instance where he scored) was the correct decision.
Bafana now turn their attention to the last eight of the continental competition where they meet Cape Verde on Saturday. Kick-off is at 22:00 (SA time).
