Banyana Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis has named the final 23-player squad to take on Serbia next week in preparation the 2023 Women's World Cup.
After reporting for local camp on Monday, 35 players spent the week vying for a place in the final squad to take on Serbia away in an international friendly to be played on 10 April.
Ellis and her technical team have had the difficult tasking of trimming the squad down to 23 players and on Friday, the three-time CAF Women's Coach of the Year has revealed the final squad that includes a mix of fresh talent and experience.
South African Sports Star of the Year award winner Andile Dlamini, Noko Matlou and captain Refiloe Jane all return to make up the team's experienced core.
Meanwhile University of Johannesburg forward Sphumelele Shamase, Richmond United's Nthabiseng Majiya make up the team's younger players.

The 2022 Women's African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) champions are putting in the their preparations for the upcoming Women's World Cup Oceanic regions of New Zealand and Australia and competition will run from 20 July 2023.
Serbia are ranked 35 in the World Rankings while Banyana are rankled 54. Ellis has warned that Serbia are a tough opponent but belies the preparations will serve her side will for the upcoming World Cup.
