The Egyptian Premier League champions have once again flexed their financial muscle in the market with the addition of the Senegal youth international in a deal worth a reported €2.2 million (R35m).
With manager Rene Weiler not hiding his desire to land a marquee signing to lead the Red Devils line, Ahly have finally landed their man in the form of the powerful 22-year-old.
Badji has shown tremendous potential in the Austrian Bundesliga and Allsvenskan with Rapid and Djugardens respectively since arriving in Europe and was scouted by a host of Europe's elite.
However, the Club of the Century tied down the towering striker on a four-year contract, subject to a routine medical at the club's headquarters.
"The player, accompanied by Amir Tawfiq, will arrive in Cairo this evening to perform the necessary medical examinations and exams tomorrow," the club revealed.
"Badji will then join the team's training in preparation for participating in the upcoming matches according to the technical staff's vision."
