Mamelodi Sundowns thrashed Algerian giants CR Belouizdad 4-1 in their CAF Champions League quarter-final first leg on Saturday night.
After exiting the Nedbank Cup to Stellenbosch FC, the Brazilians re-called goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, Abdelmounaim Boutouil, Sipho Mbule and Thapelo Morena.
Masandawana needed only four minutes to hit the ground running after Peter Shalulile sneaked in between two defenders in the box and headed in a pin-point cross from Aubrey Modiba.
Sundowns showed extreme confidence in possession and doubled their lead on 20 minutes when Shalulile pulled out wide of the area and cutback for Neo Maema to apply a side-footed finish.
It was a completely dominant spell for the Brazilians who enjoyed more openings after the half-hour mark to increase their tally but were let done by the final execution amongst other elements.
Belouizdad started to see a lot of the ball later on and got a lifeline on the stroke of halftime when Miloud Rebiai towered above the defence to head in at the near post following a corner-kick.
Two changes for Belouizdad after halftime saw Ishak Boussouf come on for Mohamed Isak Belkhir while Housseyn Slmi filled in for Zakaria Draoui.
Sundowns weren't bothered and added another goal five minutes after the break when Shalulile attacked a loose ball in the area and slammed into the near corner.
Shalulile continued to unsettle the host as he held off one challenge in the box to set-up Themba Zwane to profit from close-range, but he went wide.
As the tempo began to slow, Sundowns almost had a fourth goal when Shalulile escaped the offside trap and rounded Alexis Guendouz only to fire against the post.
Masandawana completed the rout in added time as substitute Cassius Mailula latched onto a loose ball from a scramble in the area and tucked in over the goal-line and brought the clash to a close.
