Mamelodi Sundowns booked their spot in the CAF Champions League group stages after thrashing Mbabane Swallows 4-0 in the second leg of the second preliminary round.
Sundowns made wholesale changes from their win over SuperSport United, as only Peter Shalulile remained in a virtually completely different line-up, that offered opportunities to the likes of Thembinkosi Lorch, Kobamelo Kodisang, Erwin Saavedra and Rushine De Reuck.
The Brazilians were quick to go forward as just after 13 minutes, Shalulile had two shots saved by goalkeeper Mathabela Sandanezwe, who also, five minutes later denied Saavedra.
Masandawana continued to threaten and shortly before the hour-mark Lorch had a shot across goal that was a little too quick for the unmarked Shalulile to have a tap-in at the back post.
Lorch combined with Kodisang again moments later for Masandawana but his effort was deflected wide.
However, Sundowns' pressure eventually paid off just before the interval, as Kodisang broke the deadlock and made it 5-0 on aggregate with a tap-in after a cross by Divine Lunga, who did all the work on the left flank.
Manqoba Mngqithi's charges had another quick start from the break as three minutes in, Shalulile had a toe-poked shot that missed narrowly wide after a through ball by Lorch.
However, Mngqithi rested Shalulile after the hour-mark and brought on Thapelo Maseko for fresh legs and a change of approach going forward.
After asking questions, Sundowns eventually went two goals up on the hour-mark after Malibongwe Khoza powered home a header from a cross by Lorch.
Mbabane were starting to give in as moments later Lorch added the third goal with a close-range finish after a teasing cross by Kodisang.
In a one-way traffic, Sphelele Mkhulise made it 4-0 and 8-0 on aggregate for the Tshwane giants with 23 minutes to go after an unstoppable strike from range.
With the game already secured in the closing stages, Sundowns withdrew Lorch and Kodisang and gave a run to Siyabonga Mabena and Kutlwano Letlhaku, as The Brazilians booked their spot in the group stages.
