They head into the opening Group C clash on the back of a perfect start in the Betway Premiership of seven consecutive victories, with their only blemish so far this season being a surprise 3-2 loss to Magesi FC in the Carling Knockout round of 16.
Ahead of the encounter against Belouizdad next Tuesday, former Cape Town City striker Mayo has revealed what the difference is between the PSL and the Algerian league, after he was signed by the domestic runners-up in the off-season.
"It's [Algerian league] more physical, where it's a man-to-man game we play here, one-v-one marking. Most of the teams I've faced here, players like to dive, but it's a physical game compared to South African football," Mayo said on SoccerBeat YouTube Channel.
"Where you're given time and space, [PSL it's more of] tactics and technique. In North Africa, here in Algeria is different, you have to run after your man here.
"My team, we like to defend and attack, but I do most of the defending [compared to Cape Town City]. It starts from the top," he explained.
The Bafana Bafana striker, who is the first South African to play in the Algerian league, has made eight appearances, three of those as starter, and is yet to score or assist for Belouizdad.
